Zahra & Arshad

My babies... They've grown so much these past few months..

arshad

He's such a big boy now. He recognizes his own clothes, he knows which one he usually wears to go out and which one is just for 'at home'. If he thinks he's going out, he insist to wear the 'we're going out tshirt and pants'. If his sister is crying or throwing tantrum. He will be the one consoling his sister. Sweet kan..

He's such a gentleman even though he's only 1 year and 10 mths. But he can be very stubborn when he wants it his way. He will cry and cry until he gets what he wants. Since we know that is he's ploy. I will let him cry for a while before consoling him

Cepatkan kids grow up. It just seems like yesterday I was holding him for the first time.

Eid 2008

This year we celebrated eid in both 'kampung'. It was really tiring for us adults, but the kids had fun. So it was worth it and moreover, they had so much fun playing with their cousins, it was much easier for us to send them to the nursery.

Will post their pictures later once my notebook is feeling a bit better.

*its nice that till today i'm still on leave. :)

** I hope its not too late to wish all my friends and their family a very happy eid. :)

qasida burda..

I've just discovered qasida burda.. thanks to kak siti..

What is qasida burda...?

Qaṣīda al-Burda (Arabic: قصيدة البردة, "Poem of the Mantle") is an ode of praise for the Islamic prophet Muhammad composed by the eminent Sufi Imām Ṣālih Sharaf ad-Dīn Abū `Abd Allāh Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan al-Būṣīrī (1212-1296) of Egypt. The poem, whose actual title is al-Kawākib ad-Durrīya fī Madḥ Khayr al-Barīya ("Celestial Lights in Praise of the Best of Creation"), is famous throughout the Muslim world.

Road Trip - 25 Aug to 30 Aug 2007

TganuTrip2.jpg, originally uploaded by nadia zaharudin.

Setelah sekian lamanya.. 45 hari, asyik makan ayam or ikan with kunyit, halia and lada hitam, finally I get to eat really2 sedap food. Nasi dagang, keropok... durian.. u name it.. But still I didnt eat a lot. Makan sikit2 jer cause I'm still nursing Arshad. Nanti kesian pulak dia, perut kembong. Alhamdulillah. He's not the fussy type. Ada lah angin sikit2, but not that bad.

My pasar payang trip kena put on hold cause Arshad is still in training (need to train him to drink breast milk from bottle). InsyaAllah by the time his ummi starts working, dia dah ok with the bottle.

At the moment, stock susu banyak. Am taking habbatussauda with honey and longan kering everyday. Nanti nak start taking kurma, all this to keep me healthy and to make sure milk supply is enough for Arshad. :) And not to forget, plenty of warm water.

Questions.. question..

When I was pregnant, there's 3 questions friends and colleague's would actually ask me;

1. Bila due..?
2. Dah scan, baby boy or girl?
3. Dah prepare utk pantang nanti, ubat/jamu yg mana satu nak makan..?

Question 1 and 2 are usual questions asked. And sometimes, its the same person asking those 2 questions. hehe.. I'm also guilty of doing that. Kadang2 kat office ada 3, 4 org pregnant. Tak ingat siapa jawab apa.

Last question, selalunya either u're close friends tanya, or those yg nak jual ubat. For me, my answer is tak makan jamu pun. Just jaga makan, all masakan letak kunyit, lada hitam, halia and bawang putih. Minum air suam. And makan habbatussauda + honey. So far, alhamdulillah. I feel good. Masa pantang after zahra's delivery pun I ate the same thing. Tapi this time around kan, 44 hari tuh rasa lamaaa lah sangat. I wonder if boleh shortcut to 35 days ker.. :) (my mom wont be around next week...boleh lah kot..) ;P

ML, work.. etc

Today is the 22nd day of my confinement. Which is also the first week of August. When I was working, I would usually dread the first week of the month. Why? Because I need to check, and double check reports, and it was very tedious. And most of the checking is not automated, thereby it needs to be done manually. Archaic kan? Anyway, enough said. Banyak-banyak cerita about that pun tak no use.

My point here is, I'm glad I'm on maternity leave. Wish it is 84 days and not only 60 days. Anyway, kena bersyukur jugak cause according to my mom. Org dulu2 maternity leave 45 days ajer. I wonder about other countries. How long is their maternity leave. Hmm.. Need to do some research. Nanti will blog about it later.

I want milk, but am so sleepy

Last night, Arshad could not sleep. And when he cant sleep, he wants to breastfeed. Adohai. Penatnya ummi bagi susu. I think he actually drank milk every 1/2 hr. It took him 2 hrs to finally sleep.

Its time like this, makes me sort of give up to bf him. But then rasa guilty. I do hope nursing him wont hurt so much. Soon!

Doa Nabi Yunus

Since I'm housebound for at least another 26 days (this time its going to be for 40 days only.), I've been going thru some of my mom's books. And found a lot of doa's/zikir's that I think is easy to practice and remember. The one that I've always recite is doa Nabi Yunus.

Doa - For those who are in anger

Sometimes, when I'm tired, not enough of sleep and food. I get very edgy. Not that I like to be that way, but I know I am like that. Its worse, when people who are close to me, nag me about this and that. And there, and then, I will utter something unforgivable that I wish didnt come out of my mouth.

Abah will usually scold me for it. Hubby will always try to keep me calm. And worse of all, if you're in confinement. Small things like that will usually make you overly emotional. I.e. it will make you cry.

Hmm.. maybe I'm like that cause I know I can get away with it. People who are close to you usually let you get away with that kind of attitude. Nonetheless, I am getting older. I should try to control my anger and emotions better kan? Macam budak2 pulak.

I found this doa in one my mom's book. I think I should amalkan this doa.

We (Allah) said: "O fire! Be you coolness and safety for Ibrahim (Abraham)!"
(Surah Al-Anbiya 21:69)

Are You An Optimist or Pessimist?

You Are a Realist

You don't see the glass as half empty or half full. You see what's exactly in the glass.
You never try to make a bad situation seem better than it is...
But you also never sabotage any good things you have going on.
You are brutally honest in your assessments of situations - and this always seems to help you cope.
